🌱 How to Propagate Plants Easily at home?
Share
Why buy more when you can grow more? 😉 Propagation is just a fancy word for making new plants from the ones you already have. Here’s how you can multiply some of your favorite greens:
✨ 1. Money Plant (Epipremnum aureum)
- Method: Stem cuttings
- Cut 4–6 inch vine cuttings with 2–3 leaves.
- Place in water or directly in soil.
- Roots show up in 2 weeks — tada, new plant! 🌿
✨ 2. Snake Plant (Sansevieria)
- Method: Leaf cuttings / Division
- Cut a leaf and let it callous for a day.
- Place in soil — roots form in 3–4 weeks.
- Or simply divide pups from the mother plant.
✨ 3. Rhoeo (Tradescantia spathacea)
- Method: Division / Stem cuttings
- Separate side shoots (pups) and repot.
- Or use short stem cuttings in moist soil.
- Very fast grower — you’ll have many in no time!
✨ 4. Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)
- Method: Division
- Uproot the plant, separate clumps with roots attached.
- Replant in fresh soil. Easy-peasyÂ
✨ 5. Jade Plant (Crassula ovata)
- Method: Leaf or stem cuttings
- Snap off a healthy leaf or stem.
- Let it dry for a day to avoid rot.
- Place in soil and water sparingly until roots form.Â
✨ 6. Areca Palm
- Method: Division
- Separate clusters of stems with roots and repot.
- Needs patience, but worth it for that tropical vibe. 🌴
🌟 Mitty Tip: Propagate during the growing season (spring–monsoon) for best success. Always use fresh, well-draining soil and avoid overwatering baby plants.
